Keeping property owners' information secure is a top priority. This privacy
policy outlines our views and practices as they pertain to you as a lake
resident, or as a visitor to http://hagermanlake.org.
The only personal information we collect is data you volunteer, and that only
for lake residents. The information is pretty skimpy—just generic lake
directory information which may include off-lake addresses, telephone
numbers, email addresses, and HLPOA membership status. Although this
information is password-protected, the password is generally known to
property owners and is therefore only as secure as the owner with the
loosest lips. Any site visitor who learns the password may view directory
information. Of course, they could also find it in the phone book...
If there appears to be evidence of attempts to compromise the integrity of the
site structure or the associated data (also known as hacking) we reserve
the right to detect and block offensive visitors from future access, by
any of several methods.
We have a photo gallery. No names or personal information will be associated with
individual images without the explicit request and permission of that person.
Under no circumstances will any names or personal information be associated
with the images of any minors that appear on our web site.
Like most Web sites, we may use cookies or session data—harmless and temporary files used only to enhance the use of the site. These files contain no
personal identifiable information, and they disappear when you leave the
web site.
We will use a user ID / password system to grant restricted access to some features
of the site. The passwords are stored in an encrypted form called a one-way
hash. That means we have no access whatsoever to your original password, and
cannot provide you with it, even if you tell us the name of your first pet.
We value your privacy and will not jeopardize our relationship with you by
collecting, selling, trading or renting any personal information about you.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, contact our president, Bill Reed.
